New sweet highlights:

Fortune of Gold ($80 for 1kg) – Good fortune beckons with this treasure trove of gold ingots and coins! This exquisite dessert, edible right down to the string, is another stunning showpiece by Pastry Chef Joe Tan. Made with moist passionfruit and apricot pound cake covered with icing, the bag is topped with eight gold ingots handcrafted with white chocolate and icing, as well as eight chocolate gold coins.

Lucky Orange Delight ($80 for 1kg) – This cheery confection will definitely be the talk of the festive table with its larger-than-life look! Shaped like a giant mandarin orange and coated with white chocolate and icing, this orange pound cake opens up to reveal eight petite mandarin oranges handmade from dark chocolate.

Duo of Prosperity Fish ($108 for 10 persons) – This lucky pair of Mango with Pomelo & Sago and Durian Pudding adds a tropical touch to any Chinese New Year celebration and will bring much joy as gifts. Guests may also purchase a pair of durian pudding prosperity fish at $118 which serves 10 persons.

Traditional New Year Cookies and Chips ($18.80 to $23.80 per jar) – Back by popular demand are the Macadamia & Chocolate Cookies, as well as the all-time favourite range of festive snacks like Cashew Nut Cookies, Chiku Chips(arrowhead) and Yam Chips.

‘Bak Kwa’ ($50 for 600g and $76 for 1kg) – Marinated in a blend of secret spices and barbecued to perfection by the hotel’s Chinese chefs, another must-try is our tender pork jerky or ‘Bak Kwa’! For easy nibbling, they are sold neatly pre-cut in small slices.

New savoury highlights:

Braised Chicken with Sea Treasures in Claypot ($198 for 6 persons) – Literally a sumptuous feast in one pot, Master Chef Chan Hwan Kee’s masterpiece presents a whole chicken braised for two hours with prized ingredients such as pork belly that has been cooked for eight hours, whole Australian abalones, dried oysters, flower mushrooms, black moss and broccoli, resulting in a comforting rich-textured dish. Available for dine-in and takeaway only at Min Jiang.

Bountiful Treasures Claypot ($238 for 6 persons) – Brimming with premium seafood and produce such as whole Australian abalones, dried oysters, flower mushrooms, sea cucumber, dried scallops, black moss and Tianjin cabbage in a luscious robust sauce, this hearty dish’s highlight is the hairy gourd ‘rings’ stuffed with pork belly inspired by the traditional home-style specialty. Master Chef Goh Chee Kong conjured this luxe version with twice-cooked pork belly; first braised then steamed for a total of nine hours, to achieve unctuous fork-tender meat which pairs impeccably with the clean flavours of hairy gourd. Available for dine-in and takeaway only at Min Jiang at One-North.

Drum of Abundance ($288 for 8 persons) – This impressive dish wrapped in lotus leaves and encased in a drum-shaped salt crust encompasses myriad ingredients such as pig trotter, whole Australian abalones, dried scallops, black moss and flower mushrooms. Available for dine-in and takeaway at Min Jiang and Min Jiang at One-North.

Prosperity ‘Fa Cai’ 8 Treasures Duck ($178 for 8 to 10 persons) – This 2-kg boneless duck is stuffed with ‘eight treasures’ of flower mushrooms, ‘ling zhi’ mushrooms, sea cucumber, dried scallops, euryale seeds, black moss, fresh chestnuts and water chestnuts, braised to succulent perfection. Available for dine-in and takeaway at Min Jiang and Min Jiang at One-North.

Claypot Reunion Rice ($68 for 4 to 6 persons, $108 for 8 to 10 persons) – A comforting dish for the whole family, this Cantonese favourite is packed with preserved Chinese sausages, liver, waxed duck leg and pork belly. Available for dine-in and takeaway at Min Jiang and Min Jiang at One-North.

Prosperity Sea Treasures in Wooden Pot, ‘pen cai’ ($338 for 6 persons) – Top-grade ingredients are used for this traditional Chinese dish – Australian abalones, dried fish maw, black moss, sea cucumber, flower mushrooms, Chinese dried oysters, Min Jiang in-house roasted pork, ‘tianjin’ cabbage, fresh scallops and ‘live' prawns. Available for dine-in and takeaway at Min Jiang and Min Jiang at One-North.

Prosperity ‘Yu Sheng’ from Deli, Min Jiang and Min Jiang at One-North

New highlights:

Snapper with Grilled Puffer Fish Yu Sheng ($138 for large portion) – Grilled puffer fish and tai, or snapper, are undoubtedly the stars of Master Chef Chan Hwan Kee’s rendition. Imported from Japan, the mirin-soaked air-dried puffer fish is grilled to render a smoky edge and taste, while thin snapper slices lend a pristine note to the combination comprising mesclun greens, sweet potato and yam crisps, preserved melon strips and prawn roe tossed in a sweet plum-based sauce with a final flourish of peanuts, sesame seeds and crispy crackers. Available for dine-in only at Min Jiang.

Assorted Fruits with Crispy Eel & Sliced Silver Cod Yu Sheng ($78 for small portion, $128 for large portion) – A refreshing mélange of mango, dragonfruit and pear coupled with cucumber and lettuce dressed in an appetising mustard and fruit juice dressing, Master Chef Goh Chee Kong’s yu sheng features two novel ingredients; crispy eel and fried silver cod fish, both of which impart a flavourful umami touch to this ethereally-light creation. Crushed peanuts, pine nuts and sesame seeds add fragrance and provide a crunchy textural contrast. Available for dine-in only at Min Jiang at One-North.

Hamachi ‘Yu Sheng’ ($128 for large portion) – This best-selling ‘yu sheng’ impresses with a unique mix of ‘hamachi’ (yellowtail), flying fish roe, ‘wasabi ebiko’ (prawn roe), seaweed, French chives, mesclun greens, shredded carrots, Buddha’s hand citron, jellyfish, onions and pomelo, enhanced with chef’s secret sweet sauce and lime juice. The homemade taro and sweet potato crisps, pine nuts and sesame seeds provide that extra delicious crunch to the dish. Available for dine-in only at Min Jiang and Min Jiang at One-North.

Festive Dining at L’Espresso

The ever-popular English Afternoon Tea buffet is a great alternative for guests who want something other than the usual Chinese fare. Lunar New Year treats such as ‘ikan parang yu sheng’, roast pork belly with BBQ sweet sauce, nian gao’ with pumpkin beignet as well as crispy chicken coated with pork floss will be added to the buffet for a festive touch.
